Customized Massage

Customized Massage

Relaxation or therapeutic massage using a combination of Swedish and/or deep tissue techniques, based on the needs of the client. This massage combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation.  The deep tissue techniques that may be used are highly effective for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Massage Cupping

Massage cupping is a modified version of the common practice of cupping therapy, used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and the results that this simple treatment produces are impressive. Through suction and negative pressure, massage cupping releases rigid soft tissue; drain excess fluids and toxins; loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue; and bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles.  Add cupping to any Customized Massage session with Mya for only $15.


Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women.  Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes.  Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy.  The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.

Infant Massage

Infant Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically to promote the healthy development of your infant.  Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy thriving baby, and the benefits of massaging a young child are many, including:

  • Improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system
  • Strengthened immune system function
  • Regulated sleeping patterns, leading to deeper sleep
  • Greater levels of trust and intimacy between parent and child

During a session of infant massage, the therapist will show the parent how to perform massage on their own child, by demonstrating with a doll while the parent gives massage to their own baby.

Chair Massage

Chair massage uses a specialized ergonomic chair. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.  Chair massage is also available on site at your home or workplace.

Hot Stone Therapy

Stone Therapy is a type of bodywork that uses deep penetrating heat from specialized stones.  The physiological benefits of hot stone therapy has on the body have long been scientifically and medically proven.

Stone Therapy delivers a profound expansion and contraction inside your circulatory system, improving the function of your lymphatic and immune systems, and enhancing your body’s self-healing mechanisms.  This style of bodywork takes you into deep states of relaxation, releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body, and balancing your nervous system.

30 minutes = $50

60 minutes = $70

90 minutes = $95


Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (MLD) aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system.  As both a preventative and remedial technique, MLD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is a treatment that utilizes a whirpool tub with a therapeutic blend of Dead Sea salts and Aveda essential oils.  The warm water will soothe and relax your aching muscles as you also receive a shoulder, neck, and scalp massage.  (Please note that a bathing suit is required. Also, this is a heated tub, so this treatment is not for anyone that is pregnant, or recovering from a stroke.)

20-25 minutes = $45

 

We have two tubs that are side by side, so you can share your session with a friend. If you would like to schedule a couples' session, please call our office, this is not available with our online scheduling.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet and hands.  Unlike other foot and hand massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet and hands themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body.  According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into the feet and hands.  Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.  In a 30 minute session you can chose to have either the feet or the hands worked on.  A 60 minute session would allow for both the feet and hands to be worked on.

Chakra Balancing Massage

 Chakra Balancing Massage is an innovative treatment that features aromatherapy with the Aveda Chakra Balancing Blends along with deep tissue massage on the back and spinal muscles, chakra reflexology massage for the feet and hands, and energy work for each of the chakras.  It promotes stress relief, decreased muscular tension and increased energy by centering the chakras.  For more information on chakras click here.

Aveda Stress Fix Massage

 Aveda Stress Fix Massage is a focused treatment that uses Swedish massage techniques along with some deep tissue techniques to reduce muscular tension and increase circulation in high stress areas of the body- shoulders, neck, face, upper back and forearms- along with a specific foot reflexology treatment, acupressure, and aromatherapy. Guests will be guided through a meditation to enhance the benefits of stress relief and increased energy.

75 minutes = $75


Caribbean Therapy Body Treatment

The Caribbean Therapy™ Body Treatment combines authentic healing therapy and powerful ingredients from the Caribbean to nurture and restore the body and senses.  This treatment begins with a detoxifying seaweed masque that warms the tissues and relaxes the body, followed by a scalp and face massage. After a refreshing shower, a restorative body massage completes this island-inspired experience.

(Those with seafood or fish allergies should not receive this therapy.)

90 minute service - $85


Sound Healing

Sound Healing, through various techniques and technologies, is the educated and conscious use of the energy of sound to reach identified goals and promote wellness in the human system – including the expansion of consciousness. Sound Healing is founded on the premise that all matter is vibrating at specific frequencies. Science has proven that sound, or vibration, has a strong impact upon substance.  At TLC you can have sound healing added to any session with Mya for free, just let her know during your consultation with her.
